Here’s where you can find answers to all your NAATI translations FAQs.
What is NAATI?
NAATI (National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters) is the certifying body for translators and interpreters in Australia. By using a NAATI certified translator, you ensure that your document is translated accurately and meets the high standards required for official government purposes.
How can I be sure that you’re a genuine NAATI certified translator?
You can check my credentials on the NAATI website, by inputting my Certified Practitioner number (CPN7SM87S) in their ‘Verify Credential’ tool.
Do you need to sight my original document in order to translate it?
No, I only need an email of a clear, scanned copy of the document to translate.
How do you certify my translation?
I stamp all my translations, along with their accompanying source documents, with my NAATI digital stamp. This stamp includes my NAATI Certified Practitioner number, the translation date and a QR code that can be scanned to verify my credentials.
How long will my translation take?
This depends on the number and complexity of the document(s) to be translated. I can usually complete a single page document within 24 hours if the order is received during business hours (Monday-Friday 8:30am – 6pm). I will always advise a turnaround time when I provide you with a quote. If your translation is urgent, please let me know and I’ll always try to help.
In which format will I receive my translated document?
Generally, translations are delivered in PDF – but you can advise if a different format is required.
How can I have my driver’s licence translated?
If you plan to apply for an Australian driver’s licence (necessary if you stay for more than 6 months in Australia), you need a full translation of your licence. If you are in NSW, you need to contact Multicultural NSW to organise your translation with them directly. All other Australian states and territories accept translations done by any NAATI certified translator.
A full translation of a driver’s licence costs AUD $40, payable by bank transfer. You can order this full translation by sending me a scan of both sides of your licence.
Can I get a hard copy of the translation?
Yes. Please advise when you contact me for a quote, so I can include postage & handling costs in the quote.
